Stabbing Incident


DIMATALING,      Zamboanga del Sur (May 1, 2018) – On April 30, 2018, at about 11:45 pm, a stabbing incident transpired at Purok 1, Brgy. Magahis, Dimataling, Zamboanga Del Sur.  

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that victim was identified as one (1) Jimmy Mangaral Tuwawa, 42, Brgy. Kagawad, married, resident of said place.

Victim sustain stabbed wound to his right part of his abdomen and was brought by his relatives to Margosatubig Regional Hospital then subsequently transferred to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center for further medication.

Suspect identified as one (1) Noroden Tilos Taratingan, 21, single, jobless, resident of Brgy. Molum, Lapuyan. Investigation disclosed that victim roaming around in the disco party when he pacifying trouble of two male persons suddenly suspect stabbed the victim without any apparent using 11 inches double bladed knife and run away but Edgar Saavedra together with the Barangay Tanods hurriedly follows the suspect and held by the responding civilians and Tanods.

Suspect was immediately turnover to the responding PNP personnel and brought to Dimataling for proper disposition and documentation.

Further, the place of incident with estimated distance from Dimataling MPS, More or less 64 kilometers means of transportation using patrol car vehicle with estimated time travel 3-4 hours; PNP personnel of Dimataling MPS still coordinating with the family of the victim for filling of case.

Top 3 high value target arrested in drug buy-bust operation

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (April 25, 2018) – Top 3 high value target was arrested by the joint operating personnel of Dimatalingt Municipal Police Station and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) during the conduct of drug buy-bust operation Tuesday afternoon at Purok 6, Sitio Quarry Barangay Kagawasan in the municipality of Dimataling in this province.  

Dimataling Chief of Police Inspector Jeremias N. Pepito identified the suspect as Roberto Dela Cruz Patalot, 52 years old, LGU casual employee of the said town.

Police Inspector Pepito said that the operating personnel used P500.00 marked money posted as drug buyer. After the exchange of marked money and the illegal drugs the police signal the operating troops that resulted the immediate arrest of the suspect.

Recovered from the possession of the suspect 2 packs of buy-bust item and 6 other small packs believed to be containing a shabu and the marked money, the Police Official added.

In the initial investigation disclosed that the suspect admitted that he is engaged in illegal drug pushing. He stopped the said illegal activities and voluntary surrender to the police during the height of Oplan Tokhang, Police Inspector Pepito also said.

The suspect is now detained at the PDEU-lock-up cell while the violation of RA 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act being filed against him.

Fragmentation Grenades recovered

DIMATALING, Zamboanga dle Sur (April 22, 2018) - Two MK2 Fragmentation Grenades discovered separately by barangay folks at Purok 10, Brgy. Codilog and Purok 5, Sitio Guling, Tiniguangan in the said municipality.

The personnel of Dimataling MPS proceeded to Purok 10, Brgy Codilog, at around 9:00 O’clock in the morning of April 21, 2018 together with the team of EOD led by SPO1 Reuben G Balido with PO2 Urot and PO1 Abalo arrived in the area and conducted ocular inspection.

The subject UXO was detonated as a method of an explosive disposal as its transportation is no longer feasible. The team proceeded at Purok 5, Sitio Guling, Brgy. Tiniguangan where another UXO, MK2 Fragmentation Grenade was also discovered at around 3:00 O’clock in the afternoon being placed in cleave of unknown tree species in its trunk. The EOD team detonated as its recovery, the team returned station at about 4:00 O’clock in the afternoon the same day with no incidents noted.

Police visibility conducted in the coastal Barangay of Dimataling



DIMATALING, Zamboanga del Sur (April 6, 2018) – The Personnel of Dimataling Municipal Police Station led by Police Inspector Jovencio Bucog conducted the police visibility and patrolling along the coastal barangay of Tipange of this town recently.

 During the Police visibility, Inspector Bucog also reminded the BPATs and Bantay Dagats to be vigilant always against unidentified personalities that would dock at their shorelines and reports immediately to them.

Other activities conducted by Dimataling MPS including the visitation of PWUDS at the said barangay. (By Jong Cadion)
